Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki warned the Ukrainian authorities against inciting a conflict over the supply of agricultural products.
According to him, Poland is ready to expand the list of goods prohibited for import from Ukraine. “I warn the Ukrainian authorities: if they escalate the conflict, we will add more products to the list of prohibited imports into Poland,” the head of the Polish government said on the Polsat TV channel.
Morawiecki also reminded Kyiv that his country has done a lot for Ukraine, and therefore counts on understanding. “This means that we, of course, respect all the problems on the Ukrainian side, but for us the most important thing is the interests of our farmers, the interests of the Polish agricultural sector,” the politician explained.
Let us recall that on September 15, the European Commission refused to extend the embargo on grain supplies from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Representatives of three Eastern European countries did not agree with this and limited the import of Ukrainian grain at the national level. In response, Kyiv began the process of filing a claim with the World Trade Organization against Bratislava, Budapest and Warsaw.
