There is a shortage of agricultural drones and components in the Russian Federation. Against this background, prices for drones rise by 20%, writes the Kommersant newspaper.
According to media reports, the whole point is the restrictions on the export of drones introduced by China from September 1 – they led to the suspension of supplies of components and drones weighing more than 4 kg, in connection with this, Russian retailers and manufacturers of devices faced a shortage. At the same time, China’s ban on exporting drones if they are used for military purposes has led to the suspension of supplies even of those products that do not fall under the imposed restrictions.
Thus, the newspaper writes, there is a shortage of drones used in agriculture, which weigh about 30–40 kg and are not produced in Russia in large quantities. A number of manufacturers are waiting to receive information on the supply of thermal imagers, others note that their suppliers are trying to begin obtaining licenses. Consideration of applications and preparation of documents, according to the publication’s sources, can take from six months to a year. At the same time, some Russian drone manufacturers operating on a foreign component base have already warned of a price increase of at least 20% due to changes in exchange rates, the publication writes.
