It’s not easy to wake up and be in good shape – not an easy task. Irina Merkulova, a teacher at the Department of Physical Education at State University of Medicine, spoke about how to make the morning less traumatic for the psyche, writes Life.
First, the expert advises breathing correctly. Breathing exercises can revitalize your energy, she says, and can be done while lying in bed. So, you need to take a deep breath through your nose, hold your breath for a few seconds and exhale slowly through your mouth. This exercise should be repeated several times. As a result, blood circulation will improve, and the brain and muscles will be activated faster. The expert also advises, during breathing exercises, to let go of all thoughts and focus on sensations and an internal source of strength.
Then you should stretch – exactly as your parents advised in childhood. “Stretching” will give you a burst of energy and will definitely help you wake up – you need to raise your arms above your head and stretch your fingertips with the top of your head. You also need to pull your toes. And if you add head rotation to this, you will also be able to relax the neck muscles. In addition, the specialist advises trying to run in place for one to two minutes, while you can swing your arms in time with the movement of your legs. This exercise also activates blood circulation. Finally, another proven method is a contrast morning shower. It stimulates blood circulation and perfectly relieves drowsiness.
