Only with the presence of local authorities, this Wednesday the solemn commemorative session for the 473 years of the founding of Loja was held in the council hall.
In this event, a recognition was made to the medical staff of the Isidro Ayora hospital for their dedication and attention shown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a proclamation, celebrations for the independence and foundation of Loja begin
The vice mayor of the canton, Patricia Picoíta, presented one of the awards to Dr. Gabriela Guzmán Chávez. The work of Lorena Palacios Arrobo, Pablo Bravo Lozano, Luis Alberto Pacheco, Nixon Cañar and Carmita Morocho also stood out.
Similarly, recognitions were given to the San Agustín, San Pablo, San José clinics and the Municipal Hospital clinic; the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES); to the Caritas social ministry; the Loja Fair Corporation; to the Nature and International Culture Foundation, among other institutions.
On behalf of those who received the distinctions, Andrea Rojas thanked and highlighted everyone’s work, especially during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before this act, the Infantry Brigade No. 7 Loja presided over the civil-military ceremony for the placement of floral offerings by representatives of the public institutions of the province and the canton. (I)
