G20 leaders call for full implementation of grain deal in final declaration

The leaders of the G20 countries adopted a common declaration at the summit in New Delhi. The Times of India newspaper reports this with reference to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Thanks to the hard work of our team and with your support, consensus has been reached on the declaration of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi,” the Indian Prime Minister said. He also called the adoption of the document “good news” and thanked all participants for their work.

The final declaration adopted by G20 countries calls for full implementation of the grain deal to ensure food and fertilizer supplies from Russia and Ukraine. The declaration notes that the deal is “necessary to meet demand in developing and least developed countries, especially in Africa,” TASS reports.

The leaders of the G20 countries also recognized that members of the community have different views and assessments of the situation in Ukraine.

In addition, the declaration states that all summit participants oppose the use of nuclear weapons. G20 countries called on all states to respect the principles of international law, including “territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

Let us remind you that the G20 summit is taking place in New Delhi from September 9 to 10. Leaders of the G20 countries, as well as Bangladesh, Egypt, Spain, Mauritius, Nigeria, the Netherlands, the UAE, Oman and Singapore were invited to the event.
