They find remains of a newborn in a garbage bag, in the suburb of Guayaquil

Another newborn was abandoned in a garbage bag on the streets of Guayaquil. There have been three cases in less than two months. The most recent case was reported at 08:00 this Monday, December 6, in the suburb, on 36th Street and Vacas Galindo, a suburb of the city.

Geovanni Ruiz was one of the neighbors who observed the remains that were in the orange sheath and that contained the corpse of a baby that was still connected to the placenta by means of the umbilical condor.

Ruiz was going out to buy bread at a local store when he saw that the neighbors were approaching the cover, as the newborn’s legs were sticking out.

Two trucks are parked at the site every night. It is alleged that in the morning, when the vehicles were removed, one of the trucks crushed the cover and exposed its contents.

The neighbors of the sector were saddened that according to the size, it would be a baby that was born prematurely.

“We saw him when the policeman picked him up from the floor, he was well trained. He was about 7 or 8 months old, but it seems that he was already dead when they were run over because he already smelled bad, “said a neighbor in the area.

On Friday, October 28, a newborn was found in a garbage bag by a neighbor in the sector of Callejón 26 and Q, in the southwest.

He was alive and it was a taxi driver who heard the crying and alerted the neighbors at 05:00. Five days later the mother appeared. It was about a 16-year-old girl who had not told her parents about her pregnancy.

Almost 15 days later another baby was found in a garbage bag in the Los Esteros sector. That newborn was lifeless and the Police are investigating the case, but it was clarified that the baby was born lifeless. (I)
