The meeting on the grain agreement may take place in Istanbul. The Turkish newspaper Milliyet writes about this.
According to media reports, consultations can be held in a trilateral format with the participation of representatives of Ankara, Russia and the UN. If progress is made, Ukraine may join the talks.
Earlier, the German newspaper Bild wrote that a meeting on the “grain deal” was to be held in Budapest last week with the participation of Russia, Turkey and Qatar. On these dates, Hungary was visited by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. However, there was no information about past negotiations.
On the eve it was reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Russia to discuss a “grain deal” with Vladimir Putin.
Recall that on July 18, Moscow notified Turkey, Ukraine and the UN of its objection to the extension of the grain deal and withdrew from it, since the terms of the agreement with respect to the Russian Federation were not fulfilled. At the same time, the Kremlin noted that Moscow’s return to the grain deal is real, but after the fulfillment of obligations to Russia.
