A healthy diet is essential for the proper functioning of the heart. This was stated by cardiologist Denis Sokolov, writes Moslenta.

The doctor made a list of dangerous foods. The list included margarine, as well as products containing it (cookies, chips, cakes), sausage and fast food. The doctor explained that they contain large amounts of trans fats. It is better to completely exclude these products from the diet or use at least not daily. Cookies and cakes, according to the doctor, it is better to bake yourself.

In addition, the doctor included meat, milk, butter and cheese in the “black list” – they contain a lot of saturated fats that are deposited in the form of atherosclerotic plaques on the walls of blood vessels that can cause a stroke. Also, due to the use of these products, visceral fat accumulates in the body – on the internal organs, including the heart, worsening its work.

Another load on the heart is fast carbohydrates, which are abundant, for example, in instant cereals and buns. The abundance of starch, flavors and “empty” calories in them worsens the load on the digestive and cardiovascular systems. Sweets and foods containing sugar are also dangerous – their abuse causes obesity, decreased glucose tolerance, and diabetes. At the same time, you do not need to abuse salty foods. You should refuse marinades and canned food – a person can consume no more than five grams or one teaspoon per day. If you exceed the norm, arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart attacks and strokes can develop. According to the doctor, it is better to replace the usual white salt with unrefined rock salt, from which these substances were not removed during the processing.
