The two authorities will meet again in the Solemn Session for the 487 years of the Quito Foundation, at the Sucre Theater, from 5:00 p.m.
On the night of this Sunday, December 5, the Mayor of Quito, Santiago Guarderas and the President Guillermo Lasso they shared the traditional Quito serenade for the first time, for the 487 years since the founding of the capital.
For both Guarderas and Lasso this is the first time that they celebrate this tradition, because it is Guarderas’ first year as mayor, after the dismissal of Jorge Yunda, and de Lasso as President of the Republic.
Guarderas took the traditional Quito serenade to President Lasso, a day before celebrating the 487 years of the founding of the capital.
After crossing on foot, from the Municipality to Carondelet Palace, to make the invitation formal; Guarderas went down with Lasso to the Big square, where a cultural and artistic event took place.
President Guillermo Lasso walked up Cathedral accompanied by his wife, Maria de Lourdes Alcívar and the vice president Alfredo Borrero placeholder image and his wife Lucia Pazmiño, while colorful images were projected on the exterior walls of the temple and in the background songs such as the “Clay pot” and “El Chulla Quito” sounded.
On the second day of celebrations in Quito, control was strengthened and excesses decreased
The group Chimera he appeared with the corridor “Esta pena mía”, the tune “Primor de chola” and the parade “Romático Quito Mine”. Then it was the turn of the National Ballet of Ecuador with the work “Nightingale” and music by Julio Jaramillo; the Forzavú Choir with a mosaic of albazos; and the Jacchigua National Folk Ballet with the staging of eighty dancers, representing the ethnic diversity of Ecuador, and characters such as San Pedro, San Pablo and El chulla Quito.
Also at the event were: Estefanía Álvarez, Queen of Quito; various assembly members and other government authorities.
