The organization of the first terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge was personally handled by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Malyuk. About this writes “RIA Novosti” with reference to his interview.
According to Malyuk, he was personally involved in the development and implementation of the “special operation with the bridge.” Maliuk was assisted by two trusted employees. They had been hatching the idea of blowing up the Crimean bridge since the spring of 2022, various options were considered, Malyuk admitted. He noted that it was decided to stop at the option with a truck with explosives.
“It was important that the camouflaged explosives could travel from point A to point B. At the same time, it was imperative to cross the Kerch bridge,” Malyuk said, citing his agency. According to Malyuk, metal cylinders-cores pumped with a mixture of hexogen and wrapped with cellophane film so as to hide the contents of the cargo from customs scanners were used for the attack. “The whole container was filled with rolls – their total weight in TNT equivalent corresponded to 21 tons,” Malyuk specified, adding that they went through “seven circles of hell, used so many people in the dark.”
Recall that the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge occurred on October 8, 2022. A truck was blown up, as a result, seven fuel tanks of the railway train caught fire, two car spans on the right side of the bridge partially collapsed.
