Inflation in Russia accelerated to 0.10% from 8 to 14 August from 0.01% from 1 to 7 August after 0.13% from 25 to 31 July, 0.23% from 18 to 24 July, 0.18% since 11 to 17 July, Rosstat said on Wednesday.
From the beginning of the month, the increase in prices by August 14 amounted to 0.11%, from the beginning of the year – 3.52%.
From the data for 14 days of August this and last year, it follows that annual inflation in the Russian Federation accelerated to 4.63% on August 14 from 4.40% on August 7 and 4.30% at the end of July, if calculated from the weekly dynamics, and accelerated to 4.66% (from 4.43% as of August 7), if calculated from the average daily data for the whole of August 2022 (the Ministry of Economic Development switched to this calculation method in February).
For the period from August 8 to August 14, 2023, prices increased: for pork and chicken meat – by 1.5%, sunflower oil – by 0.5%, sausages, sausages, granulated sugar and buckwheat – by 0.4% . Of non-food products, prices increased over the week: for electric vacuum cleaners – by 1.1%, chipboard – by 0.7%, cars of foreign brands and televisions – by 0.5%. Prices for motor gasoline rose from August 8 to 14 by 0.5%, diesel fuel – by 0.7%. The cost of a flight in the economy class cabin of an aircraft increased by 0.9%.
