In Pavilion 3 of the El Oro Social Rehabilitation Center, the murder of a 20-year-old woman was recorded. The alleged perpetrator would be a prisoner who would have strangled his partner at 4:00 p.m. this Saturday while the time for conjugal visits was being fulfilled.
The victim was identified as Sonia M., according to the police report, the woman was strangled by a person deprived of her liberty, identified as Édgar C. It is presumed that she used cords to commit the crime that was alerted by prison agents.
Rosmel Gallegos, deputy chief of the Machala district of the National Police, pointed out that “the woman came to visit her partner in the morning hours and in the afternoon the inmate involved ran out to ask for help but the woman no longer had vital signs when the paramedics checked her ”.
Criminalistics personnel, from the National Directorate of Crimes against Life, Violent Deaths, Disappearances, Extortion and Kidnappings (Dinased) and the prosecutor on duty came to carry out the respective removal of the corpse. (I)
