This dish is made with simple ingredients, such as lentils (synonymous with abundance), and prepared in a provocative way.
Dear readers:
We are here to celebrate a new Christmas, to renew our feelings of love, peace, happiness and surrender. We have been sharing it together for so many years that I think you already know my recipes, the recipes in my book, since I have published them for 16 years and that motivates me to be more creative to continue surprising them.
At the same time, you know that “the table is for everyone, the great meeting place for family and friends”; the quintessential place to celebrate and share life. So I hope that this recipe made with simple ingredients, such as lentils (synonymous with abundance), prepared in a different way and presented in a provocative way, become the star of your table and nothing is left in the source. Keep it in mind for your parties.
I hope you enjoy it and thank your cook today.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 cups of tomato chopped and diced
2 cups of pearl onion, chopped and diced
1 cup of green or red bell pepper, diced
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
ΒΌ teaspoon pepper or to taste
2 cups raw lentils
2 or 3 cups of water
1 teaspoon of your favorite seasoning or chicken cube
16 white sausages or fine sausages
8 barbecue sausages
2 cups carrots cut into large squares
1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
Parsley sprigs for garnish
Elaboration:
1. In a frying pan put the butter and olive oil, with the tomato, onion, pepper, salt and pepper. Let it fry until it has the consistency of a rehash.
2. Blend this refrito and pour it into a large pot to make the stew. Put the lentils, water and seasoning with the fry. Cover the pot for cooking.
3. Meanwhile, in a frying pan, fry 8 white sausages and the 8 barbecue sausages. When they are golden brown, remove them to a board and cut into two or three slices on the bias. Put the sausages in the pot of lentils along with the carrots, cover and cook until the lentils are ready. If you need a little more water, you can add according to your taste. It should be with the consistency of a stew.
4. Meanwhile, fry the other white sausages and leave them golden on both sides, as we will use them to decorate our plate.
5. At the moment of serving, check the flavor, its point of salt and pepper. Add the chopped parsley and serve hot in a nice platter. Garnish with the golden white sausages and a few sprigs of parsley.
Note. Serves approximately 12 people. You can double the recipe.
Note 2. Serve with white rice and a delicious tomato salad.
