Food poisoning is becoming a common consequence of eating food in public places. Ekaterina Kashukh, a gastroenterologist, an expert of the Gemotest Laboratory, told how to choose dishes so as not to get poisoned.
According to her, the popular and beloved by many shawarma can be dangerous – it consists of many ingredients, and it is not always possible to track their quality. Some unscrupulous manufacturers can easily “disguise” spoiled components – fry less fresh meat harder or add more sauce, the expert noted.
According to her, in public places it is better to give preference to dishes with fewer ingredients and sauces: pizza with vegetables on a thin crust or a salad dressed with vegetable oil. In this case, the risk of poisoning is significantly reduced.
And if possible, it is better to take a snack with you, the doctor added. She recommends making sandwiches at home with whole grain bread and homemade ham or baked chicken breast, vegetables, whole grain bread or cereal bars.
