Ukraine will receive German reconnaissance drones LUNA NG. RBC writes about this with reference to the German media.
The publication calls the devices “superdrones”, which are able to “see and hear.” Drones have the ability to silently launch in any terrain and fly at an altitude of 5 km.
The devices are produced by the German defense concern Rheinmetall. It is planned that the drones will be transferred to Ukraine before the end of this year. The kits will include a ground control station with several drones and a launch catapult. It is specified that the drone weighs 40 kg, the flight time is 6-8 hours. It is capable of performing tasks at a distance of 100 km and at an altitude of up to 5 km.

It can ensure the operation of the LTE network, intercept or jam communications.” Luna NG (New Generation) is a more advanced version of devices already delivered to Kyiv. They can perform reconnaissance and strike missions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will also receive a modification capable of carrying weapons.
The value of the contract was not disclosed. However, in 2019, German authorities announced plans to purchase nine Luna NG systems for 130 million euros, the newspaper notes.
