The Russian Defense Ministry commented on a new attempt to attack the Crimean bridge. According to the agency, an S-200 missile was fired over the bridge.
“At about 1 pm, the Kyiv regime attempted to deliver a terrorist strike on the Crimean bridge with an S-200 anti-aircraft guided missile converted into a strike version,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
It is emphasized there that the missile was timely detected and intercepted in the air by means of air defense.
No damage or casualties.
Earlier it was reported that two missiles were shot down in the area of the Kerch Strait. The information was disseminated by the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov. He clarified that the Crimean bridge was not damaged. At the same time, traffic was closed. Eyewitnesses also reported smoke at the crossing. As Kryuchkov, an adviser to the head of Crimea, later explained, “the smoke screen was set up by special services.”
Recall that on the night of August 12, Crimea was also attacked by drones. According to the Ministry of Defense, the military repelled the attacks of 20 Ukrainian drones. Previously, Crimea was repeatedly attacked by drones. On August 4, the Russian military repelled the attacks of 13 drones, and on July 30, when trying to attack objects on the peninsula, 16 aircraft-type UAVs were destroyed by air defense systems, nine more were intercepted by electronic warfare systems. On July 24, Crimea was attacked with the help of 17 drones – all drones were suppressed or destroyed.
