In the art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3) on Monday, August 14, at 18:00, the opening of the exhibition “Mitki – Museum” dedicated to the history of the Leningrad underground will take place. The exhibition, organized as part of the New Wanderers project, will last for three weeks.
The exhibition will feature the first exhibits of the Mitki Museum, created by the founder of the Mitki art group Dmitry Shagin and the Etalon Group. The project “Mitki-Museum” is designed to preserve the memory of the place of the Leningrad Palace of Youth (LDM).
The history of LDM is, first of all, cultural events that happened within its walls, bright people, the history of Leningrad informal art. And this history, of course, needs to be preserved. The Etalon Group always respects the memory of the places where it implements its projects.

Since April of this year, the organizers of the project have been collecting a collection of artifacts related to the history of LDM and the Leningrad underground. All of them will become exhibits of the future museum, which will later be located in the public space of the new Etalona residential project on Pesochnaya Embankment, open to citizens.
Mitki Museum is conceived as a modern project with a digital exposition and a collection of artifacts that will be regularly updated thanks to the residents of the city. The first exhibits of the museum are, for example, a part of a beer stall, which Mitki, together with the musicians, painted in honor of the decade of the rock club. As well as the records of the groups “Kino”, “Aquarium” and “Zoo” with the autographs of the performers, recorded immediately after the legendary rock festival within the walls of the LDM, engravings by Vasily Golubev in 1987. In total, more than 20 exhibits will be presented at the first exhibition of the Mitki Museum.
The exhibition will be opened by Dmitry Vladimirovich Shagin, curator of the Mitki Museum project, head of the Mitki Art Center.
Entrance to the exhibition is free.
