The sleepy town, immersed in greenery, makes an idyllic impression. The perfect place to reset yourself and regain your zest for life. This is what the writer Weronika Nowakowska thinks, who comes here to write a book and think about many things. He does not suspect that in Lipowo he will not find one, i.e. the so-called holy peace. She will certainly not be bored, because moments full of tension and terror await her. The kind that many authors of detective stories never even dreamed of. Shortly after Weronika’s arrival, Lipowo, which has been so peaceful until now, is overwhelmed by chaos. A nun from a local convent dies. Who could care about the death of a nun from an order covered by the silence clause? Why did she have to die? Which of the inhabitants of Lipowo is so desperate to commit murder? Questions multiply, the atmosphere thickens, and the fear for life becomes the share of the inhabitants of Lipowo. Weronika decides to solve a criminal mystery. However, he does not know what a dangerous game he is playing.

The Lipowo idyll is an illusion, because honesty is not the strongest point of the local community. People have mastered the game of appearances here to perfection. During the day, prayers resound in the local church, and at night, in the Witches’ Glade, someone performs pagan rituals. Weronika, as an outsider, sees and feels more. She is so effective and committed that the chief of the local police, Daniel Podgórski, unofficially enlists her in the investigation. He is open and smart, unlike many inhabitants of Lipowo, he does not close himself to what is new and disturbing. When a nun dies, encouraged by Weronika, he tries to explain the mystery, even if the truth turns out to be inconvenient for many. He also does not hesitate to use the help of a civilian, namely Weronika Nowakowska. Daniel also likes Scandinavian detective stories and his mother’s pastries. His mother, Maria Podgórska, who is a receptionist at the police station in Lipowo, was played by Beata Kawka (“Belfer”, “Pitbull. New Orders”).
The shopkeeper Vera is not an ordinary woman. The inhabitants of Lipowo consider her a witch. She knows and sees much more. Agnieszka Suchora (“Emigracja XD”, “In-laws”) played Wiera in the series produced by Player Original. It is Wiera who introduces Weronika to the world of magic and tells her, among other things, about the Witches Glade.
The friendly and jovial local parish priest was played by Olaf Lubaszenko (“Belle Epoque”, “Love is Everything”, “Sztos”, “E=mc2”, “Blondynka”, “Teddy Fur”). A kind-hearted old man plays an important role in the community of Lipowo. Is he also silent in the name of the so-called the greater good? As the plot unfolds, it turns out that the priest also has his secrets.

The new series Player Original “” was based on the novel entitled “Butterfly”. This is the first volume of the best-selling saga written by Katarzyna Puzyñska. So far, 15 volumes of electrifying detective stories have been published, the heroes of which are the inhabitants of this Kujawy town; in May 2023, the novel “Zg³oba” was published. The series, which can be watched in Player from August 18, gives a new life to the characters in the novel and joins the rich library of Player Original series.
