At the University of Azuay (UDA) the elections of the authorities for the period were held this Friday, December 3 2022-2027.
With the majority support of students, teachers and administrative staff, Francisco Salgado he was reelected in that position.
The UDA is one of the most important academic institutions in the city of Azuaya with 53 years of history.

The celebration of list 1 started from 5:00 p.m., despite the fact that there was no official data. But then, starting at 5:20 p.m., the Electoral Tribunal made the voting trend official.
Ximena Mejía, secretary of the Electoral Tribunal of the UDA, read the act that gave the victory to Salgado with the vote of 192 teachers, 152 administrators and 966 students, which at the end and under the weighting formula gave 60.31% of valid votes.

Salgado commented that his work will focus on fulfilling his work plan in search of a better university. As for the militants on list 2, he commented that even if he differs from his proposals, he will have no problem shaking hands with them.
For her part, the candidate from list 2, Cecilia Ugalde, commented that they will continue working for the university community and although this time they did not win, they hope that the group formed for this election will remain firm and in a critical position towards what they believe that is not good in the administration of the university.
Until 6:00 p.m. they did not define if they will contest the elections, since although there is reliability in the electronic vote, the opening of the polls would consider it ideal to guarantee the transparency of the process.
The possession of the new authorities is scheduled for January 2022 and from there they will direct that university from Cuenca for the next five years. (I)
