Rains cause damage to several homes in Loja

The rains registered between the afternoon and night of this Tuesday, November 30, caused several damages to streets and homes in Loja.

ECU911 indicated that several homes were affected in the Reina de El Cisne, Chirimoyo and Sauces Norte sectors. In total, eight buildings were covered with stone material, so two family members were evacuated.

In addition, landslides were recorded on the Loja-Malacatos, Loja-Catamayo road sections and the old road to Cuenca, Reina de El Cisne neighborhood. Now they are fully enabled for vehicular traffic.

All reported emergencies were coordinated with personnel from the National Service for Risk and Emergency Management, Municipal Services, National Police and the Fire Department, said ECU911.

ECU911 indicated that specific monitoring was carried out through video surveillance cameras on Manuel Agustín Aguirre and José Antonio Eguiguren avenues (center); Nueva Loja y Guaranda avenue (Wholesale Market sector), Manuel Agustín Aguirre avenue and Mercadillo (El León); Emiliano Ortega and Juan de Salinas avenues (El Técnico bridge); Velasco Ibarra and Plácido Caamaño (Jipiro); Nueva Loja and Isidro Ayora (New Granada).

In that last area, accumulated water was evidenced that caused complications in vehicular traffic. (I)
