The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, speaking in the State Duma, condemned the desire of women to first get an education and provide a material base, and have children only after that, RBC reports.
The minister said that a “vicious practice” had formed in society and “there was a conviction” that a woman first needs to get an education and provide herself with a material base “and only after approaching a difficult reproductive age, take care of childbearing.” According to Murashko, because of this, “many problems arise in the form of infertility, miscarriage, and many others, the time for the birth of a third, fourth child is reduced.”
The Minister expressed the opinion that the situation with the birth rate “needs to be reconsidered” and “the message should be different”: the sooner a woman gives birth “within physiological limits” and “in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health”, the better for her and the child’s health.
Recall, on the eve of Murashko said that the sale of drugs for abortion should be limited.
