Mass poisoning occurred at the recreation center “Sail” in the Tuapse district of the Krasnodar Territory after swimming in the sea, according to the Kuban prosecutor’s office.
According to the agency, 12 children aged 11 to 16 and their coach, having arrived at the recreation center, swam in the Black Sea, despite the current ban. After that, the whole group had a fever, nausea appeared. The children and the coach were hospitalized.
According to the agency, at present the condition of the teenagers and the coach is satisfactory, there is no threat to their life and health. The circumstances of the incident are established, employees of Rospotrebnadzor took water samples for analysis. The prosecutor’s office is conducting an audit to assess compliance with sanitary and epidemiological legislation, including by the owner of the recreation center.
Earlier, the authorities of the Tuapse district in connection with flooding from July 12 introduced a ban on swimming in the sea until July 26. Measures were taken to prevent the deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the region.
