The European Union reacted to the suspension of the “grain deal” by Russia. Moscow was urged to resume the implementation of the grain initiative, follows from the statement of the high representative, which is published on the bloc’s website.
“The EU calls on Russia to reconsider its decision and immediately resume the implementation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative,” the text says. It also notes that “the European Union will make every effort to further support the timely and stable supply of all goods, especially agricultural products, to world markets along the EU and Ukraine’s Solidarity Corridors.” The EU also pledged to continue working with affected partner countries to address the global food shortage and support efforts to restart the grain initiative.
Recall, the Russian Federation on the eve announced the termination of the agreements on the “grain deal”. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted that some of the conditions relating to Russia in this Black Sea initiative have not been fulfilled.
