Fertility nutritionist Raquel Monroy has warned that an unbalanced diet and environmental influences can cause male infertility. In an interview with the Daily Mirror, she named a way to increase fertility in men.
According to the expert, male reproductive health is often ignored, although it is the cause of half of all problems with conception. Monroy pointed out that the reasons for the decrease in sperm parameters are not fully understood. But most often this is due to obesity, unhealthy lifestyle and the influence of toxins in the environment.
To increase male fertility, Monroy recommended changing the diet at least three months before the intended conception. Such a period, she explained, is needed for the renewal of spermatozoa. During this period, she advised to make up for the deficiency of vitamins E and C, as well as zinc and omega-3. In addition, in her opinion, it is imperative to give up alcohol, smoking and highly processed foods.
She also drew attention to the fact that phthalates, which are used in the production of household chemicals, cosmetics, and plastic, negatively affect the level of fertility. Monroy pointed out that it is impossible to completely protect yourself from their influence, but you can try to come into less contact with them.
