Russian President Vladimir Putin at the end of the meeting in connection with the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge said that the responsibility for it lies with the “Kiev regime”.
He also stressed that “of course, there will be a response from Russia.”
Now, the head of state noted, the Ministry of Defense is preparing relevant proposals.
According to Putin, this is a “senseless, from a military point of view, having no significance” crime. He added that the Crimean bridge has not been used for military transportation for a long time.
During the meeting, the president also said that he was waiting for concrete proposals to improve the security of this facility. Putin recalled that this is the second terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. According to him, the FSB, the TFR and a number of other departments have already been instructed to look into the incident in detail.
Recall that last night the Crimean authorities reported an “emergency” in the area of the 145th support of the Crimean bridge and the suspension of traffic on the bridge, as well as the ferry crossing.
Later, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee clarified that due to the attack of Ukrainian drones, a partial collapse of one span of the Crimean bridge occurred. “At 03:05, two Ukrainian unmanned surface vehicles attacked the Crimean bridge,” the ministry said in a statement. They indicated that after the explosion the roadway was damaged, two people were killed, one was injured.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the article “Terrorist act”.
After the incident, the authorities of Krasnodar decided to strengthen security measures in the city. Motorists were urged to plan the route in advance and choose alternative routes to bypass the Crimean bridge.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said that the railway supports of the Crimean bridge were not damaged as a result of the emergency. He added that the bridge will be restored.
Recall that the bridge was damaged for the first time on October 8, 2022. It was blown up with explosives on a truck. As a result, two spans of the automobile part of the bridge were destroyed, the railway part was damaged, several people died. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the attack. At the beginning of July 2023, Kyiv announced that the Crimean bridge was then blown up in order to disrupt Russian logistics. Such a statement, in particular, was made by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar.
