The West should accept Ukraine into NATO as soon as possible without conditions. This statement was made by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, writes the Daily Mail.
“So what are they afraid of? When NATO leaders arrived in Vilnius this week, it was very clear what they had to do. They had to be strong. This is the whole point of NATO, ”said Johnson, quoted by RBC. The British politician stressed that the alliance was only supposed to make it clear that Ukraine would be able to join as soon as the fighting ended, but instead the Ukrainians would receive an “invitation” to NATO “when the allies agree and when the conditions are met.”
Recall that at the summit of the alliance in Vilnius, the terms for Ukraine’s entry into NATO were not set, as Kiev sought, but a promise was made to simplify the entry procedure: they decided not to oblige Ukraine to fulfill the action plan to prepare for membership.
