Municipality of Quito suspended concert in the Bicentennial Park as a precaution against the threat of omicron variant

On the morning of this Wednesday, December 1, the Secretariat of Culture of the Municipality of Quito reported that suspends the concert of the group Piso 21 that was scheduled to take place in the Bicentennial park, in el north of the capital. The Municipality also reported that All other planned events and activities are maintained, with capacity reduced to 50%. Thus they foresee that the more than 400 activities programmed to celebrate the 487 years of the founding of the capital will be carried out.

In addition, the authorities undertook to perform the concert with the Colombian group for 2022, “As soon as the epidemiological situation allows it to be done with minimal risks and all the necessary security protocols,” says the press release.

Finally, a call was made to citizens to avoid crowds, continue with biosecurity measures and respect the guidelines established by the authorities to avoid an increase in coronavirus infections.
