The State Security Committee of Belarus has excluded Sofya Sapega and Roman Protasevich from the list of individuals and organizations involved in terrorist activities. The updated list is published on the website of the KGB of the republic.
It should be reminded that on May 3, the Minsk Regional Court sentenced Roman Protasevich, one of the members of the Nexta terrorist organization recognized in the country, to eight years in prison. On May 16, he was pardoned by the President of the Republic.
Protasevich was detained on May 23, 2021 at the Minsk airport along with Russian Sofya Sapega. She was accused of being the editor of the Black Book of Belarus channel (recognized as extremist in Belarus), which hosts personal data of employees of the internal affairs bodies of the republic.
The girl was found guilty of deliberate actions aimed at inciting social hatred and discord, which led to grave consequences, as well as illegal collection and dissemination of personal information.
In May 2022, the court sentenced her to six years in prison. On June 7, it became known that Lukashenka pardoned a Russian woman.
