Petrolera Monterrico will operate Block V and Olympic Perú will operate Block VII of Talara for 30 years

Perupetro granted this Thursday, June 13, the good agreement to Petrolera Monterrico to operate Block V of Talara, while Olympic Peru will be in Block VII. Both will be for 30 years.

According to the agency in charge of contracts for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons, the offers of both companies will allow investments of US$145 million between the two lots.

Petromont, the only bidder for Block V, offered to execute two workover wells, 21 development wells and one exploratory well. This would occur between the first and sixth year of the license contract. Said offer exceeded the minimum established in the bases of the process, added Perupetro.

While Olympic — which widely outbid Sapet Development, the current operator of Block VII — will execute 62 well workovers, 89 development wells and five exploratory wells, between the first and seventh years of the contract.

It is worth noting that the current contracts for these lots expire in October of this year.

Carlos Pantigoso, general manager of Perupetro, pointed out that these new contracts will include a Development Fund for the benefit of the populations located in the area of direct influence of the lots.
