In Abkhazia, the movement of trains was suspended after a heavy downpour, which partially flooded the Gagra district, the press service of the Abkhazian Railway (AR) reports.
According to the press service, a heavy downpour “washed away more than 200 meters of the railway track” on the Bzyb-Gagra section and the Gagra station. Brigades of RUE “AZD” are also inspecting other areas in the area to identify damage.
The company clarified that the movement of trains was temporarily stopped after the departure of the Moscow-Sukhum passenger train. At the same time, the Lastochka electric train is moving on schedule to Gagra.
Let us recall that earlier it was reported that due to heavy rains in the Gagra district of Abkhazia, catering facilities, shops, first floors of residential buildings and roads were flooded. In addition, due to the flooding of distribution substations, electricity was cut off in some settlements of the Gagra district and the city of Pitsunda.
On the eve of heavy rains also passed in Sochi and Krasnodar.
