Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky assessed the future of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He made a number of statements at a press conference following a meeting with Czech President Petr Pavel.
The latter promised Kyiv support for Prague in the process of joining NATO and during the conflict with Russia. In response, Zelensky noted that he was optimistic about the prospects for a counteroffensive by Ukraine, TASS reports.
Zelensky said that “as part of the counteroffensive, the initiative passed to the Ukrainian army.” He added that he is optimistic about the prospects for a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, the Czech leader noted that Prague is helping Kiev, saying that since February 2022, the Czech Republic has transferred to Ukraine 676 units of heavy equipment and air defense systems, 4.2 million units of medium-caliber and large-caliber ammunition and 380 thousand artillery shells, and also sent 1.5 billion crowns for humanitarian aid.
According to the Associated Press, Zelensky recently visited Bulgaria. The president’s plans included visits to the Czech Republic and Turkey.
