An ambulance will take journalist Yelena Milashina, who was beaten in Grozny, to Beslan, Russian human rights ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova said.
According to Interfax, Moskalkova added that Human Rights Ombudsman in the Chechen Republic Mansur Soltaev arrived at Milashina’s hospital in Grozny. The Ombudswoman added that “the incident must be thoroughly investigated, and those responsible must be punished.”
Moskalkova also said that she had applied to the department of the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor’s office of Chechnya with a request to check reports that Milashina and lawyer Alexander Nemov were beaten in Grozny in order to open a criminal case. She also asks to ensure their safety and to allow them to leave the region. According to her, Nemov, in particular, was stabbed.
Let us recall that earlier it was reported that in Chechnya unknown persons beat Nemov and Milashina, who flew in to pronounce the verdict on the wife of the former judge Saydi Yangulbaev, Zarema Musaeva, in the Akhmatovsky District Court of Grozny.
