According to him, the constant presence in a sitting position can lead to erectile dysfunction. So, an erection directly depends on filling the cavities of the cavernous bodies with blood – it creates the pressure necessary for this.
Also, the doctor added, with prolonged sitting, the groin area inevitably heats up, which, in combination with other factors, can lead to infertility. Heating worsens the qualitative and quantitative indicators of the ejaculate (sperm), reduces the production of testosterone.
In addition, when metabolism slows down, the hormonal background changes and the likelihood of developing a variety of “male” diseases, including prostatitis, increases.
In general, a long stay in a sitting position (at least 8 hours a day) disrupts the blood supply to the internal organs, slows down the metabolism and provokes the development of latent chronic diseases, the physician warned. Also, according to him, atrophy of muscle fibers occurs, and due to the limited mobility of the muscle corset, the overall endurance of the body decreases.
