A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.3 was felt at 03:26 this Wednesday in northern Peru and was perceived in some cities in southern Ecuador.
According to the Geophysical Institute (IG), the earthquake had a depth of 10 km, 11.82 km from Sullana, in Peru.
In areas of the provinces of Azuay and Loja, the tremor that shook Peru was also felt. There are no reports of material damage.
Around 05:00, the Ecuadorian Risk Service reported that the earthquake was felt slightly in El Oro, Guayas, Cañar and, moderately, in Loja Azuay and Zamora Chinchipe.
Earthquake of magnitude 3.3 was recorded in Manabí
This earthquake was felt in 49 cantons of the country.
In addition, he indicated that the earthquake did not meet the conditions to generate a tsunami on the Ecuadorian coast.

After the strong earthquake, aftershocks have been recorded in that area of Peru. One of them was at 03:59 with a magnitude of 3.7 at 4.46 km from Sullana.
An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 was recorded in the province of Sucumbíos
