Minutes after the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, announced the eight measures that will be applied in the country to prevent infections of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus, the Municipality of Quito reported that the recommendation to reduce the 50% of the capacity allowed for the events scheduled within the framework of the city’s founding festivities.

Through social networks, the capital city council reported on the night of November 29 that the decision seeks to protect the health and safety of the people of Quito.
