People often keep photocopies of their passports and other important documents on their smartphones. On the one hand, this is convenient, but on the other hand, it can create serious problems for owners. As Sergey Vakulin, an expert in the field of information and computer security, told Evening Moscow, it is dangerous to store all important documents on technical devices, because they are subject to hacking.
True, he added, if the device is not connected to the Internet, then it will not work to steal data remotely.
According to the expert, scammers do not steal personal data intentionally, but gain access to them along with all the information available on the gadget.
“They create a kind of virus that they distribute to technical devices, and with the help of it they get all the data, among which they use the ones they need,” Vakulin explained.
Of course, leaving data on the phone is convenient, but not safe. Even antiviruses are not able to immediately detect a threat. Therefore, the expert recommended not to store such files in the smartphone as: photos of an intimate nature; bank cards; tickets, all documents containing your personal data.
