Restrictions under the new, 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia will affect 71 individuals and 33 structures. According to materials on the EC website, restrictive measures apply to a number of Russian governors, in particular, the head of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, the head of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, and others.
The restrictions included Artem Uss, entrepreneur and son of the former governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss, military correspondents: Evgeny Poddubny, Semyon Pegov, Alexander Sladkov, Moscow City Duma deputy and military commander Andrei Medvedev, political scientist Sergei Karaganov, businessman Artem Chaika and his brother Igor Chaika.
Restrictions were also imposed on Deputy Defense Minister Tatyana Shevtsova, several Russian judges and high-ranking military officers, including Colonel General Alexander Lapin. As a basis for including the military leader in the list, it is indicated that the troops led by him “take a direct part” in the hostilities in Ukraine.
The “black list” included regional officials of the Crimea, Chechnya and the LPR, as well as employees of the Russian media.
Among the structures, restrictions are being introduced against the PMC Wagner Center, Vagnerenok, the Zvezda TV channel, and the Positive Technologies cybersecurity group of companies.
Moscow considers Western sanctions illegal.
As the Russian Foreign Ministry announced today, in response to new European sanctions, Moscow has expanded the list of representatives of EU countries and European institutions who are banned from entering the country. The relevant list, in particular, includes representatives of law enforcement agencies, state and commercial organizations of the EU countries, citizens of the EU countries involved in providing military assistance to Ukraine, representatives of European institutions responsible for imposing sanctions against Russia, and a number of EU parliamentarians.
