Polish law enforcement agencies refute reports that the Andromeda yacht, which called at the Polish port, could have been involved in the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea, writes the local newspaper Rzecz Pospolita, citing these investigations. Warsaw is conducting its own investigation into the incident.
According to investigators, the Andromeda arrived in Poland from the German island of Rügen, with six people on board. The ship spent 12 hours in one of the ports of the country, after which it left the Polish territorial waters.
“According to the results of the investigation, during the yacht’s stay in the Polish port, no items were loaded onto its board, and the yacht’s crew was subjected to inspection by the Polish border guard,” the Polish prosecutor’s office said. The crew members had Bulgarian passports, the border control did not reveal that they were fake or that their owners were denied entry into the Schengen area.
Warsaw also claims that it has not found evidence of the involvement of Polish citizens in undermining gas pipelines.
The fact that Andromeda could have participated in the attack on Nord Stream, which took place in September last year, was previously reported by Western media.
