The number of people poisoned by shawarma has increased in the city of Bratsk, Irkutsk region. According to the governor of the region Igor Kobzev in the official Telegram channel, 101 people turned to doctors for help.
“In total, 101 people turned to doctors after visiting the cafe, 22 of them are children. Hospitalization was required for 51 victims, all received assistance in full, ”Kobzev noted.
He clarified that there were no severe cases of poisoning, seven patients had already been discharged.
Recall that on the morning of June 14, it became known about the poisoning of 11 residents of Bratsk, including five children, after visiting a cafe selling shawarma. All of them were hospitalized. On the morning of June 15, the number of victims rose to 62 people. A criminal case has been initiated. The establishment was temporarily closed. The cafe owner was placed under house arrest. During the audit, Rospotrebnadzor found violations in the technology of cooking, food storage in a cafe. Salmonella bacteria were found to be the cause of mass shawarma poisoning in a cafe.
