The number of residents of the Kherson region who died as a result of flooding of coastal areas after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station has increased to 19. This is stated in a message on the Telegram channel of the chairman of the government of the region Andrey Alekseenko.
“At 18:00, 1,092 people received payments of 10,000,” the statement said.
Alekseenko also said that the vaccination of people in temporary accommodation centers is being completed. A total of 1,391 people have been vaccinated against dangerous infections. In addition, more than 2 thousand animals were vaccinated, more than 300 carcasses of dead animals were collected and disposed of.
Disinfection of collection and burning places, cemeteries is currently being carried out.
As Alekseenko noted, basements and still flooded facilities are being pumped out in all three emergency areas.
Recall that on the night of June 6, the valves collapsed, followed by other buildings of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. As a result, there was an uncontrolled discharge of water downstream of the Dnieper.
Russia blamed the Ukrainian side for the incident, and a case of a terrorist attack was opened.
