Mothers who return to work early will be able to receive an insurance payment for a child for a year and a half, and families with an average per capita income below the subsistence level will continue to pay a monthly child allowance for a year even if their income has changed. This, according to RBC, was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.
Earlier, Head of State Vladimir Putin proposed to pay child benefits up to 1.5 years and a single child benefit for the entire period of their validity, regardless of changes in income.
According to Kotyakov, the allowance for caring for a child up to one and a half years is an insurance payment from the social fund, the amount of which depends on the mother’s salary before the birth of the child. Today, if the mother of a child goes to work, under the current legislation, the payment of this benefit is suspended, while, in accordance with the instructions of the President, mothers will continue to receive such benefits when they return to work after the child reaches one and a half years.
As for the unified child allowance, which is assigned for a period of 12 months to families with an average per capita income below the subsistence level, then, according to the minister, they will continue to pay it even if the income of the father, mother or both has changed during the year.
We add that this year the subsistence minimum at the federal level is set at 14 thousand 375 rubles. The regions also determine their own living wage every year.
