Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to declare an amnesty for businesses on involuntary violations of currency legislation for the period of the moratorium on penalties for such violations, which is planned to be extended to 2024. He stated this while speaking at SPIEF.
The head of state recalled that the authorities had greatly simplified the regulation of foreign trade, as well as significantly reduced fines for violations of currency laws and, he stressed, completely removed them in case of “unfriendly external” actions.
According to Putin, this moratorium will be extended to next year.
“I propose to announce an amnesty for businesses for forced currency violations committed during the period of the moratorium,” the president said, adding that this issue should be closed so that there would be no reason to “bring” business to responsibility retroactively.
Recall that the moratorium on bringing to administrative responsibility for a number of violations of currency legislation, if they are caused by sanctions, was originally introduced for the period from February 23 to December 31, 2022. It was then extended until the end of 2023.
