In Russia, since June 3, 35 people, including one child, have died from surrogate alcohol poisoning. This was announced by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko. He added that 106 people were injured, including five children.
Recall that earlier it became known about cases of alcohol poisoning, including fatalities, in a number of Russian regions. Most of the cases are associated with the use of an alcohol-containing drink produced in Samara “Mr. Cider”.
The suspects in the case of mass poisonings are Dmitry and Alexei Yegorov. The investigation believes that they, together with police officer Ivan Grebenkin, stole 6 tons of methyl alcohol in May. According to the investigators, the alcohol was sold to Artem Hayrapetyan. The latter carried out illegal deliveries to the owner of LLC “Andi” Anar Huseynov.
In relation to Dmitry Yegorov and Grebenkin, a criminal case was opened in the GSU on the fact of the theft of alcohol. The men pleaded guilty. The court arrested both on 8 August. Hayrapetyan was taken into custody until August 4 inclusive on charges under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Aleksey Yegorov has been put on the wanted list. Huseynov, the owner of Andi, was also detained. He was charged under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Huseynov was arrested until August 4 inclusive.
