Undoubtedly, the application of the cross of death places Ecuador in a unique and special moment; Various sectors of society point out that a significant percentage of the 13 million voters assume this new electoral process in 2023 amid “fatigue and exasperation with politics, politicians and their parties”. However, one should ask: is it indignation or a divorce from politics? Well, generally speaking, politics is the art of governing or the art of how to achieve goals, objectives and projects. Several analyzes speak in favor of the fact that man is essentially a political being, because he takes a stand and expresses his opinion on all events in life. All actions of societies and nations are regulated by political activity. Food prices, salary levels, the fate of our country and everything, absolutely everything, is determined by decisions and political commitments. But politics is not impartial: it responds, depending on the case, to the interests of different social classes. Each of them has certain economic and political interests and tries to impose its views on society as a whole. For this reason, politics is not one.
Seven presidential candidates have accepted their candidacy for the August 20 election
Now, on August 20, Ecuadorians will go to the polls, in an unprecedented electoral process that, depending on its results, may open the door to a future of prosperity and progress or may mean the continuation of corruption, arrogance, criminalization, unemployment, poverty… In order to avoided these or other realities, there are those who call for responsible payment in the present and the future. And they are right, because the voice is like we have the keys in our hands to open that future and we have to know how to use it.
Organizations that support three candidates for the presidency form an electoral alliance
In these elections, parties of the right or the left will be present with their real representatives…
In these elections, parties of the right or the left will be present with their worthy representatives (candidates for the Presidency and the Assembly). It is necessary to take into account that among the candidates for the Presidency, two represent right-wing political parties that already had the opportunity to be in Carondelet (correísmo and PSC, which supports Jan Topić). While the other candidates include Yaku Pérez, who has the support of social organizations and parties, such as Unidad Popular, Partido Socialista and Democracia Sí, which did not reach Carondelet, and is a candidate of democratic and leftist tendencies. In the case of former MP Daniel Noboa, he is the son of businessman Álvaro Noboa. While the candidate Otto Sonnenholzner was the Vice President of the Moreno Government; and Fernando Villavicencio, also a former member of the assembly and close to the current government of Guillermo Lasso.
Once some ideas are established, you, the friend/or the voter, have the final say. Read, think, ask questions and remember. It costs nothing. In times like these, everything is allowed, except for memory loss, and even less for supporting that phrase: “He steals, but he works.” Let’s not let the so-called “colerín” politics, which is nothing more than a divorce from it, blind our decision to the present and the future of our country.
