Russia is ready to consider neutral and constructive proposals of possible mediators for negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This statement was made by the Russian Ambassador to Vienna, Dmitry Lyubinsky, in an interview with the Express portal.
According to him, the issue of intermediaries is very important, but perhaps not decisive. He stressed that Moscow is ready to consider all “honest, serious, neutral, well-thought-out and constructive” proposals of possible mediators. Lyubinsky added that there are many such ideas in China’s proposals.
The diplomat pointed out that Russia appreciates Turkey’s efforts in this regard and cited the “grain deal” as an example. He also recalled the peace initiatives of African countries and the Vatican.
In turn, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak said that the peace initiatives of Indonesia, Brazil and African countries do not make negotiations with Russia possible. According to Kommersant, according to Podolyak, in order to start the negotiation process, Russian troops must leave “foreign territory.”
According to Podolyak, any negotiation process with the current authorities of the Russian Federation is impossible.
Earlier today, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov also said that now there are no prerequisites for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
