A visitor to the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, after a quarrel with other spectators, sprayed pepper spray in the hall. It is reported by “RIA Novosti” with reference to the press service of the theater.
As the representatives of the theater explained, one of the spectators during the performance of the play “Swan Lake” had a dispute with other spectators. As a result, the woman sprayed pepper spray. The performance had to be urgently stopped, the theater announced a technical break.
As a result of the incident, three people sought medical help, no one required hospitalization.
The police are now talking to the woman who sprayed the can. The theater is also investigating how she was able to sneak the can into the building.
The source of the agency added that the quarrel occurred due to the fact that a woman with her daughter on the 16th row began to watch “Swan Lake” through mobile phone cameras, because they could not see what was happening on stage. The spectators sitting nearby tried to take away and turn off the gadgets, and then the woman took out a gas canister and sprayed it.
