The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that during June 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued offensive operations, concentrating efforts on the Vremevsky ledge in the South Donetsk direction.
As noted in the defense department, the enemy, who suffered significant losses the day before, reorganized the remnants of the 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades into separate consolidated units, and also brought a fresh brigade into battle. After that, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued offensive operations in the areas of Novodarovka and Levadny. At the same time, the enemy launched an offensive in the direction of the Oktyabrsky state farm and Novodonetsk with the forces of the 37th Marine Brigade, reinforced by units of the 68th Mountain Jaeger Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the active actions of the units of the Vostok grouping of troops, the complex fire destruction by army, assault and operational-tactical aviation, missile forces and artillery, as well as heavy flamethrower systems, the enemy was stopped, he did not achieve his goals, the Ministry of Defense noted.
The total losses of Ukrainian troops in the South Donetsk direction amounted to more than 1,500 people, 28 tanks, including 8 Leopards made in Germany, three AMX-10 wheeled tanks made in France and 109 armored fighting vehicles.
