Journalist Roman Popkov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists compiled by Rosfinmonitoring – ed. ed.) charged in absentia under Part 4 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (managing the commission of a terrorist act). This is stated in the message in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
According to the agency, Popkov, currently residing in Ukraine, was involved in the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg, which resulted in the death of military commander Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin). The Investigative Committee notes that Popkov, through social networks, gave instructions to Daria Trepova regarding the preparation of a terrorist act.
He has also been put on the wanted list.
Recall that Tatarsky died on April 2 as a result of an explosion in the Patriot bar in the center of the Northern capital, where his creative evening was held. According to the investigation, a figurine, presented to the military commander by a visitor of the event, exploded in the room. Daria Trepova is listed as a suspect in the murder. It is alleged that the girl brought a figurine to the meeting with Fomin, inside of which an explosive device was hidden.
