By the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Administration of Poland, 365 citizens of Belarus are included in the list of persons whose stay on the territory of Poland is undesirable. It is reported by Interfax.

“These persons will also be banned from entering the Schengen area. They will also be subject to a freeze of funds and economic resources. In addition, the minister decided to freeze funds and economic resources in relation to 20 organizations and 16 individuals associated mainly with Russian capital, ”the Ministry of the Interior and the administration of Poland said in a statement.

It is specified that the sanctions list includes 159 deputies, 76 judges, seven prosecutors, 32 representatives of the local administration, 28 law enforcement officers, 23 representatives of the Belarusian state media, 24 athletes and sports officials, and so on.

“In addition, the list includes entrepreneurs associated with Russian capital. These are 15 citizens of the Russian Federation and one Belarusian. Sanctions also included 20 business entities (19 associated with Russia and one associated with Belarus),” the report says.

Specific persons involved in the list have not yet been named.

It is specified that the sanctions are imposed in connection with the sentence of the journalist of the international public television channel of Poland Polonia, an activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus Andrzej Poczobut. Earlier it was reported that this verdict came into force.

Pochobut was sentenced in Belarus to eight years in a penal colony. He was found guilty of calling for actions aimed at causing harm to the national security of Belarus (Article 361 of the Criminal Code) and inciting hatred (Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code). The journalist has been in custody since March 25, 2021.

Since February, Poland has suspended the work of the Bobrovniki-Berestovitsa border checkpoint for an indefinite period. The Polish authorities link this decision with the sentence of Poczobut.
