Doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov warned Russians about the deadly danger of eating sweets. In his Telegram channel, he said that the use of “fast” carbohydrates: sweets, as well as white bread, pasta and pastries, leads to a sharp increase in blood sugar levels.
As a result, more and more insulin begins to be produced in the body, and the receptors that interact with it stop responding to this hormone.
Insulin begins to be produced in even greater quantities, this leads to the growth of new formations, including malignant ones. In addition, with elevated insulin, there is a high risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, in particular hypertension, obesity, and lipid metabolism disorders.
He also said that, in addition to being overweight, possible signs of pre-existing insulin resistance are muscle pain – “like cramps” – and so-called acanthosis. So, in the armpits, under the breasts, in other folds of the skin, on the elbows, there is a “velveteen thickening” of the skin and darkening of its areas. Sometimes acanthosis can manifest itself in some tumors of the internal organs, but much more often it is a sign of insulin resistance, Myasnikov noted.
There is also a change in the hormonal background in response, the amount of testosterone in women increases, hence the growth of hair on the face and hands, problems getting pregnant and in general with the menstrual cycle, further weight gain, the doctor added.
